Snow College's Lady Badgers (3-12 in the SWAC) finished the regular season this past weekend traveling to both USU-Eastern (61-50 loss) and Colorado Northwestern Community College (57-46 loss).
On Thursday, freshman guard Amber Daly scored 14 points for the Badgers and was four-of-four from the free throw line.
Sophomore forward Vika Havili scored eight points and was the team high rebounder, crashing 12 boards.
In Saturday's game at CNCC, sophomore guard Becca Rees put up 11 points—nine of which came from behind the arc.
Freshmen forward Emily Howey scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
“In both games this weekend we fought hard to win and we gave a good effort,” says Becca Rees. “What really matters though is that we get to play in the region tournament with a clean record. I am really excited to see how the team steps up and I expect us to make a good run at another championship game appearance.”
“We came out really well in the first half against both teams; we just couldn't put them away,” continued Rees. “I'm looking forward to making a statement on Thursday. Anyone can take the title of conference champion regardless of their record, and we have certainly got nothing to lose.”
The Badgers open play in the SWAC post-season tournament when they face USU-Eastern (6-9 in the SWAC) this Thursday at North Idaho College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30p.m.
