Box Score RANGELY, Colo. (Feb. 15, 2018) -- The 24th ranked Snow College women's basketball team picked up its 21st victory of the season on Thursday, defeating Colorado Northwestern, 77-35. The 42-point victory marks the 21st win of the season and keeps the Lady Badgers in first place with Salt Lake CC at 8-2 in league play.
Snow jumped out to a 20-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, extending its lead to 28 points at the half, 39-11. In the second half, it was more scoring and more outstanding defense as the Lady Badgers extended their lead to 33 points at 55-22. In the final quarter, Snow outscored to Spartans, 22-13, to cruise to the easy 42-point victory. All totaled, each of the 11 players who played on Thursday night earned marks in the final box score to complete the team victory, including 31 points from the Snow bench. Three players were credited with double-digit scoring totals, including
Harley Hansen who had a team-high 17 points and 11 rebounds to mark her ninth double-double of the season.
Kayla Hugie posted 13 points on the night behind a game-high 3-for-6 effort from three-point range.
Savannah Domgaard also chipped in 12 points for the Lady Badgers.All totaled, Snow shot a comfortable 52.4 percent from the field, while the Lady Badger defense held the Spartans to just 28 percent shooting on the night, including just 16.7 percent during the first quarter. Snow was credited with 16 steals on the night that led to 24 of the team's 77 points. In addition, the Lady Badgers outscored CNCC 46-18 inside the paint.
The Lady Badgers will take a week off in preparation for their final two regular-season games. Snow will next travel to Idaho Falls, Idaho on Thursday, Feb. 22 to take on Southern Idaho. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
