EPRHAIM, Utah (February 24, 2017) -- The 23rd ranked Snow College women's basketball team earned a 65-57 victory over Utah State Eastern on Saturday to close out the 2017-18 regular season. With the win, the Lady Badgers improve to 22-7 on the season and 9-3 in conference play. The victory over USUE clinched the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Scenic West Athletic Conference Tournament, beginning on Thursday, March 1. 

Midway through the second quarter, Kayla Hugie hit a pair of three-points to give the Lady Badgers a 21-15 advantage, but the Eagles were able to narrow the gap near the end of the first half. Snow held to a close 25-22 advantage at halftime. The Lady Badgers came out firing in the second half, outscoring USUE 10-0 to open the third quarter. But the Eagles answered back with a 10-0 run of their own to cut the Snow lead to just two points with just over two minutes left in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Lady Badgers took over and put the game away after an 11-0 run to take a 15-point lead with just over four minutes remaining in the game. 

Harley Hansen had a game high 15 points to go along with four steals and seven rebounds, while Kayla Hugie put up 12 points of her own, going 4-for-6 from behind the arc. 

The Lady Badgers will be back in action next Thursday, March 1. Snow College will play host to the 2018 SWAC Tournament.
