Box Score PRICE, Utah (January 30, 2020) -- Utah State Eastern overcame a 19-point deficit in the second-half to upend Snow College, 54-53. The win improved the Eagles' record to 20-3 on the season, while the Lady Badgers dropped to 11-14.
Snow had the lead, 53-52, with 10.7 seconds remaining when
Reagan Yamauchi fouled Morgan Toluono. Toluono hit a pair of free throws to give USUE a 54-53 lead. On the inbound pass, the Lady Badgers pushed the ball up the court. Unable to find a lane, Yamauchi passed off to
Reagan Anderson who was unable to get a shot off as time expired.
Snow led 31-17 at the half, and extended that lead to as many as 19 points in the second half; however, the Lady Eagles turned up the heat in the second half to outscore the Lady Badgers, 37-22. USUE shot just over 24 percent in the first half, but turned things around to shoot over 41 percent in the second half.
Micah Gustafson and
Reagan Yamauchi each had 13 points for the Lady Badgers, while
Sydney Pilling added 10 points.
Shawnee Simpson was the leading rebounder with eight boards.
The Lady Badgers will return to Ephraim on Thursday, Feb. 6 to take on Colorado Northwestern. Game time is set for 5 p.m. As part of the "Pack the HAC" promotion, the first 500 fans wearing dark blue will receive a free hot dog.
