GAME NOTES
 

• The Snow College women's basketball team will head to Taylorsville to take on Salt Lake Community College Thursday.  Tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. inside the Lifetime Activities Center.  For video streaming and live stat information, visit snowbadgers.com.

 

• Thursday's matchup will be the second of three meetings between the two teams this season.  Snow College and SLCC met back on Dec. 7 in Ephraim.  The Badgers were defeated 86-66.

 

• Snow College is coming off a 75-63 loss against the College of Southern Nevada Thursday in Ephraim.  The Badgers trailed by as many as 22 points and made a late rally, but the comeback attempt came up short.

 

• Ainsley Thurber recorded a career-high 12 points on 5-9 shooting against the Coyotes.  This is the first time the freshman forward from Stansbury, Utah scored in double figures this season. 

 

• Sophomore guard Reagan Yamauchi had her highest-scoring game of the season against CSN as she scored 11 points.

 

• The Bruins are 15-4 overall this season and 5-3 within Scenic West Athletic Conference play.  They are coming off a 62-59 loss against Utah State University Eastern but have won two of their previous three games.

 

• SLCC is 12^th in the nation in field goal percentage.  The Bruins are shooting 44.4 percent overall from the field this season.

• Snow College will take on a pair of opponents on the road including USUE and Colorado Northwestern Community College.  The Badgers will play the Eagles in Price Thursday, Jan. 26, and will take on the Spartans Saturday, Jan. 28.

 

• The Eagles own a 14-6 overall record and a 6-2 mark within SWAC play.  The Eagles defeated the Badgers 75-54 Dec. 14 in Ephraim.

 

• The Spartans are 4-9 overall this season and are winless in four games within the SWAC.  Snow College earned a 75-52 victory over CNCC Dec . 16 in Ephraim.

 
LAST TIME OUT
 
The Snow College women's basketball team suffered a 75-63 loss to the College of Southern Nevada Thursday in Ephraim.  The Badgers had defeated the Coyotes twice earlier in the season but were unable to complete the season sweep.
 
Snow College entered the matchup having lost a tight matchup against No. 7 College of Southern Idaho 65-59 last week.  The Badgers were defeated despite outscoring the Golden Eagles in each of the first, third, and fourth quarters, but it was a 25-7 second quarter that was the Badger's downfall.
 
It was one quarter that hurt the Badgers against the Coyotes Thursday.  The Badgers trailed by as many as eight in the first quarter but went on a 12-2 run between the end of the first quarter and the start of the second quarter to take a 21-19 lead.
 
The second quarter was back and forth from there, and CSN would eventually take a 33-30 lead into the halftime break.  The Coyotes shot 52 percent in the first half on 13-25 shooing.  They would improve on that number in the second half.
 
CSN would shoot 64 percent from the field in the second half while extending its lead out to as many as 22 in the early minutes of the fourth quarter.  The Badgers were outscored 19-8 in the third quarter.  
 
Snow College would be able to cut the deficit down to as few as 10 points, but the lead was too much to overcome, and the Badgers would eventually fall 75-63.  
 
The Badgers shot 40 percent from the field throughout the game despite going just 2-12 from the overall and 0-2 from 3-point range in the third quarter.  The Coyotes pounded the paint throughout the game and scored 42 of their 75 points from the key.
 
Four Badgers scored in double figures led by Ainsley Thurber who put in 12 points and four rebounds. Reagan Yamauchi had a season-high 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Samiana Suguturaga finished with 10 points and six rebounds while Enid Vaifanua also had 10 for the Badgers.
