- The Snow College women's basketball team will play its first home games in nearly a month as it takes on the No. 5 ranked College of Southern Idaho Thursday and Utah State University Eastern Saturday.

- Thursday's matchup with the Golden Eagles will take place at 5:00 p.m. while Saturday's matchup with USUE will tip off at 1:00 p.m.  Both games will take place inside the Horne Activity Center in Ephraim.  This will be the second of three meetings between Snow College and CSI and the final matchup between the Badgers and USUE during the regular season.

- The Badgers are coming off two games last week that saw them go 1-1.  They were defeated 60-40 against USUE Jan. 26 before defeating Colorado Northwestern Community College 77-55 Jan. 28. Â

- The 40 points the Badgers scored against USUE was the lowest point total they have scored all season.  Snow College shot a season-low 26 percent from the field against the Eagles in addition to scoring just 17 points in the first half, which was also a season-low.

- The Badgers were defeated by the Golden Eagles 65-59 in Twin Falls, Idaho Jan. 5.  In that game, the Badgers outscored CSI in every quarter except for the second where they were outscored 25-7, which proved to be the difference in the six-point loss.

- The Golden Eagles were ranked seventh in the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Rankings at the time of their last meeting but have since climbed two spots up to the No. 5 spot.Â

- The Golden Eagles are among the nation's best offenses as they average exactly 79 points per game which slots them just outside the top 10 at 11th.

- USUE enters the weekend with a 16-6 overall record and an 8-2 mark within Scenic West Athletic Conference play, which slots the Eagles at second within the conference standings behind only CSI.

- Saturday's game against USUE will be the third and final meeting between the Eagles and the Badgers this season.  The Badgers have been winless in the first two games losing 75-54 Dec. 14 as well as a 60-40 defeat Jan. 26.  Both previous meetings between the two teams have taken place in Price.

- Snow College will continue its longest home stand of the season as it takes on Salt Lake Community College Thursday, Feb. 9.

- The Bruins began the season winning 13 of their first 15 games but have lost four of their last eight and enter this weekend with a 17-6 overall record and a 7-5 mark within the SWAC.  SLCC defeated Snow College 86-66 Dec. 7 in Ephraim as well as earning a 68-60 victory in Taylorsville Jan. 19.

The Snow College women's basketball team headed to Rangely, Co. to take on Colorado Northwestern Community College Saturday afternoon. The Badger's strong second-half performance would push them past the Spartans and carry them to a 77-55 victory.Â

In the Badger's last game out, they faced off against Utah State University Eastern and suffered a challenging defeat on the road, losing 60-40. On Thursday's game against the Eagles, Snow College shot just 26.2% from the field.

As the first quarter began, the Badgers came out on a 7-0 run. The Spartans would soon catch up, and they fought to stay close behind. CNCC had an impressive five steals in the first quarter of play which would aid the team in cutting the Badger's lead. The first quarter came to a close with Snow College leading 14-12.

The second quarter was even more closely contested than the first. As the game resumed, both teams were trading points back and forth. The Badgers shot 50% from the field which aided them in staying ahead.Â

The Spartans, however, would go on to shoot 6-8 from the free-throw line which kept them close behind. Both teams scored 21 points in the second quarter, and the first half came to a close with the Badgers leading 35-33.

Despite the closely contested first half, a strong second half of play for the Badgers would propel them to victory. Snow College began the third quarter on a 9-0 run, which pushed the lead to 11. The Badgers shot an impressive 58.3% from the field in the third quarter, and the team pulled together four steals.Â

The Spartans on the other hand struggled offensively and shot a mere 22.2%, going just 1-6 from 3-point range. The third quarter closed as Snow College had a 53-42 lead.Â

The momentum for the Badgers would carry into the fourth quarter as they continued to shine. Snow College's
Emmie Barnes led the team in scoring in the fourth quarter with seven points on 3-4 shooting. Barnes was aided by
Grayce Glover who contributed five points on 2-2 shooting in the fourth quarter.Â

The Spartan's shooting difficulties would continue late in the game as they went only 2-10 from the field. In the fourth quarter, the Badgers shot an impressive 60% from 3-point range and closed the game earning a 77-55 victory.
Three Badgers finished the game in double figures as
Reagan Yamauchi,
Samiana Suguturaga, and
Emily Evans each scored 10 points.
Jessica Lange and
Brandi White both scored eight points in the victory. The Badger's bench also contributed 41 points in the win.
