The Snow College women's wrestling team finished in second place overall after collecting three victories at the NJCAA Coaches Association Duals including victories over No. 5 Carl Albert State College, No. 9 Ellsworth Community College, and No. 10 Trinidad State College.
 
Five Badgers earned victories via fall in their matches all of which came in 2:20 or less.  Samantha Memmott, Abigail Trayhorn, Angella Van Valkenburg, Hannah Broderick, and Audrey Gribble were among those who secured five points for the Badgers as the team defeated CASC 30-23.  Van Valkenburg's victory came against Ana Barnoski, who is the No. 1-ranked wrestler in the nation in the 143-pound division.
 
Following the win, the Badgers took on No. 9 ECC.  Rachel Jones and Corrie Williams each won their matches via fall in less than 30 seconds.  Sarah Trunnell, Van Valkenburg, Broderick, and Gribble also won via fall as the Badgers cruised to a 43-5 victory.
 
Snow College suffered its lone loss of the weekend in a narrow defeat against No. 3 UCC.  Jones needed just 14 seconds to vanquish her opponent while Williams won her match via fall in 59 seconds.  It wasn't enough as the Badgers dropped the dual 29-25.
 
The Badgers culminated the weekend in a dual against TSC.  Memmott, Van Valkenburg, and Gribble led the charge for Snow College.  They all secured victories via fall as the Badgers went on to win 44-10 and secure second place during the event. 
 
Snow College will now head onto the road for the final time during the regular season and travel to Des Moines, Iowa for the Grand View Open Saturday.  The Badgers will return home for its final match of the regular season against Trinidad State Monday, Feb. 5 in Richfield.  For additional information, visit snowbadgers.com.
