The Snow College men's wrestling team had four placers at the Battle of the Rockies in Great Falls, Montana over the weekend.
Kasey Curtis was the top finisher for the Badgers finishing in fourth place.
Curtis won his quarterfinal match over Talon Hird from the University of Alberta via fall in four minutes and twenty seconds before coming up just short in the semifinal match, losing by decision, 5-2. He then defeated teammate
John Evans by decision 6-3 before finishing fourth after suffering a close 11-9 loss by decision in the third-place match.
Dillon Sorenson had perhaps the most thrilling victory of the weekend. He was victorious in his quarterfinal match against Collin McGrath of Dickinson State via an 8-3 decision. Sorensen then lost a pair of matches that slotted him into the fifth-place bout. He and Reece White of Montana State University-Northern were tied at five points apiece at the end of three periods. Sorensen would go on to win via sudden victory 7-5 to claim fifth place.
Before his meeting with Curtis, Evans defeated Zach Lopez of North Idaho College by fall in just over two minutes setting up the meeting with Curtis. After falling to Curtis 6-3, Sorenson was defeated in the fifth-place match by Brennon McDermott to finish in sixth place.
Luke Peltier earned a sixth-place finish after winning a pair of matches, the first against Cole Younger of MSU-N in a 10-6 decision. He followed that up by defeating Nick Hooper by decision 11-8 before falling to Carter Miethe of NIC to finish in sixth place.
